Parenting ConsultationAs fulfilling as parenting maybe, there are still many challenges to face as a parent. Families may take on different forms and variations: blended families, nontraditional, or in certain situations grandparents taking on a role of a primary caregiver. Parenting Consultation may be the first step to address difficulties experienced in your family or with your child. It may involve only one meeting with one or both parents, or can be an ongoing collaboration.
Different parenting styles can become a source of conflict between partners. My role is to assist parents in managing these challenges in a way that minimizes stress and helps the parents work together effectively despite disagreements, separation, or divorce. Parenting Consultation is not an assessment, and I do not provide any reports or recommendations for court purposes. |
Parent Life Coaching
The goal of Parent Life Coaching is to improve the quality of interactions with your child. Our work together would consist of developing tools and interventions that can aid your effectiveness as a parent. Life Coaching consists of problem-solving sessions and observations in which we work together to incorporate cultural and family values, traditions and the goals you have set for yourself and your child.
Children with challenging behaviors may put additional strain on a parent or family as a whole. Parent Life Coaching focuses on understanding your relationship with your child and how to positively influence behavior through modified interactions. Parent is coached on how to provide safe and effective discipline, how to approach behavioral responses to daily or unexpected life transitions, and how to continue developing a meaningful and supportive relationship. |
Pastoral CounselingLife itself is essentially a spiritual experience. And becoming a parent is a life-changing one. Pastoral Counseling is concerned with the existential, identity, and spiritual experiences most people encounter in the course of their lives.
Those who seek this type of counseling do not consider themselves as having a disorder or an illness, and would not be so regarded by their counselor. In this type of work, I do not view myself as an "expert", rather a partner with considerable experience joining you and sharing in the responsibility for understanding, exploring, and clarifying your developmental life pursuits. These oftentimes include social, professional, and personal questions. This work is a joint undertaking towards a better integration of your whole life experience. |

If such services are recommended or necessary, a referral to a licensed clinical psychologist or mental health professional will be provided.
